Sky’s Broadband extras
Ultimate TV
Sky’s Ultimate TV add on is probably the highlight of any Sky Broadband product. It was formerly known as Sky Ultimate on Demand, but the new Ultimate TV brings together Sky Q and all it has to offer with Netflix to provide you with the perfect viewing experience.
You’ll be able to watch all of Sky’s live channels, including Sky Atlantic, alongside 10,000 hours of on-demand content with Sky Box Sets!
The Sky Q box
The Sky Q box can store up to 500 hours of standard definition content, allowing you to record six shows and watch a seventh one live, and also watch content in 4K UHD if you have all the appropriate means to do so.
What network does Sky use?
Sky uses the Openreach network, which is the same network other broadband providers like BT and EE use. While the services and prices may differ between each provider, the network (your internet) will always remain the same. That’s why you’ll get the same internet speed no matter which provider you go with, because they are selling you the exact same product.
While the Openreach network is the most widely used network in the UK, there are other providers, such as Virgin Media, who do not use it, and will provide a completely different service using their own network.
Sky customer service
Before switching to a supplier of any kind, it’s often important to know how good its customer service is in case you ever wanted to contact them, and Sky certainly makes it easy for its customers to get hold of them.
Sky gives the option to message a Sky expert on an internet browser via a live chat system, but this is an option only for Sky customers as you must sign in first before you’re able to use this feature. This option is available for you to use 7 days a week between the hours of 8:30am and 8pm, and also on Saturdays between 9am and 4pm. You can message outside of these hours, but customers are advised that they’ll receive a response when lines next open.
If you don’t mind a bit of a delayed response, you can email Sky customer service at accessiblecustomerservice@sky.uk. Sky also has a help page that offers assistance via categories and help guides, should you wish to try and solve the issue yourself.
Sky does welcome its customers to write to them should they so wish, but do say it is not the fastest way for them to get back to you. For Sky’s customer complaints address, see below.
